Ivan Bruce-Cudjoe has announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA). He aims to bring "a new era of growth, professionalism, and global excellence" to boxing in Ghana.
Bruce-Cudjoe is an experienced promoter and businessman. He has over eight years in the boxing industry. His campaign focuses on a bold agenda for change within the GBA.
He believes Ghana's boxing industry is at a crucial point. Now is the time for transformation, he insists.
Through CABIC Promotions and Management, he has organized many high-profile bouts. His work earned him the SWAG Promoter of the Year award in 2019.
Bruce-Cudjoe owns a modern gym with international-standard facilities. This shows his commitment to advancing the sport.
One of his main goals is to decentralize boxing in Ghana. He argues that it has been too focused on Accra for too long.
He plans to collaborate with the National Sports Authority. Together, they will establish standard gyms in all 16 regions of Ghana. He also wants national title fights held across various locations to boost competition and talent development.
Additionally, Bruce-Cudjoe aims to empower retired boxers as mentors for young fighters. He will hold regular conferences with stakeholders like promoters and coaches. Their voices will be included in important decisions.
“Ghanaian boxing needs collaboration, not division,” he stated. “My leadership will focus on inclusivity and respect for all contributions.”
He proposes a welfare scheme for all stakeholders involved in boxing. Bruce-Cudjoe also plans to appoint special envoys to enhance international cooperation.
His ultimate goal is to develop a world-class boxer who can win a title during his first term. He concluded with a message of unity:
“This isn’t just about leadership; it’s about building a stronger boxing industry.”
He encourages everyone to work together to make Ghanaian boxing successful and inspiring for future generations.
