John Ansah, former Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has been elected Chairman following elections held on Thursday, January 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ansah secured 96 votes, defeating Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who garnered 35 votes, with one ballot rejected. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo.
Phyllis Marku was elected Vice Chair, earning 94 votes against Nana Amankwah’s 34. Other elected members include:
- Treasurer: Patrick Martey Boye (retained for a second term).
- Division One League Representative: Eric Opoku.
- Regional Clubs Representative: Gabriel Godwin Kwao.
- Women’s Premier League Representative: ASP Naomi F. Abdulai (CEO, Prisons Ladies).
The Premier League Representatives are Joseph Nkoo (26 votes) and Fred Tindan (18 votes), with Rahman Yakubu missing out with 14 votes.
Ansah's tenure is expected to bring a new phase of leadership to GHALCA.
