John Ansah has been elected the new Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) after winning 95 votes in a recent election, defeating Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who received 35 votes.
Ansah succeeds Kudjoe Fianoo, who stepped down after serving a long tenure. In the Vice Chairmanship contest, Phyllis Marku successfully retained her position. With three terms of experience on GHALCA's executive, Ansah aims to lead with ethical governance, transparency, and unity, focusing on club welfare and collaboration within the association.
The election saw 134 members participating from various leagues, including Premier League, Division One, Regional Football Associations, and the Women’s Premier League. Koomson, who had previously lost to Fianoo in 2016 and 2020, was making his third attempt at the position.
