Former Ghanaian president and NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama criticized the government for the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking on GTV, Mahama highlighted the decline of Ghana's football under President Akufo-Addo, citing poor governance as a root cause.
Mahama expressed disappointment that Ghana, known for its football talent, finished last in Group F with just three points, failing to qualify for AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
He contrasted this with Sudan, a nation in conflict, which managed to qualify despite playing home matches abroad.
Under head coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars failed to win any of their six matches. Mahama urged Ghanaians to seek change in leadership to restore national pride.
