Nikola Jokic scored a career-high 56 points, along with 16 rebounds and eight assists, but the Denver Nuggets fell 113-122 to the Washington Wizards, who ended their 16-game losing streak.
Jokic’s performance marked the second-highest in Nuggets history, behind David Thompson's 73 points in 1978.
Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 39 points, including a career-high nine three-pointers, supported by Justin Champagnie (23 points) and Jonas Valanciunas (20 points, 12 rebounds). The Wizards, missing Alexandre Sarr, secured their first win since 30 October.
Denver, without Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, struggled and now sit ninth in the Western Conference with 10 losses in 21 games. Meanwhile, Evan Mobley scored a career-high 41 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Charlotte Hornets.
