Jose Mourinho has been hit with a three-match suspension following an altercation with Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk after Fenerbahce’s Turkish Super Cup loss.
Mourinho approached Buruk from behind and pinched his nose, causing him visible discomfort.
Though the Turkish Football Federation initially considered a five to ten-match ban, they reduced it, citing provocation from Buruk at full-time.
This marks Mourinho’s second ban in 2025 after a four-match suspension in February for alleged racist remarks.
Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Demirbay, and Fenerbahce’s Fred were also banned for three matches, while teammate Merk Hakan received a one-match ban.
Mourinho may miss key fixtures, including clashes with Trabzonspor and Sivasspor.
