Kamaldeen set the standard but I want to go higher- Hakim Sulemana

Abdul Hakim Sulemana plays for the Ghana Black Satellites. He aims to surpass his brother, Kamaldeen Sulemana. Kamaldeen plays for Southampton in the English Premier League. He previously starred in France with Stade Rennes.

In an interview with CAF Media, Hakim discussed Ghana's exit from the CAF AFCON Under 20 Championship. The team lost in the quarterfinals. Hakim wants to carve out his own path in football.

“He set the standard, but I want to go higher,” he said. “We played football together as kids. Kamaldeen always pushed me.” Hakim admires his brother’s achievements but wants recognition for his own journey.

During the tournament, Hakim won two Man of the Match awards. He earned these against D.R. Congo and Egypt. He scored a late penalty against Egypt, sending the game to extra time. Unfortunately, Ghana lost 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

This loss meant they missed out on reaching the semifinals and qualifying for the 2025 Under 20 World Cup.
