Deputy Minister-designate for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to revitalizing school sports through innovative funding solutions.

During his vetting, he acknowledged the decline of school sports due to financial constraints, which have hindered talent development and competitions.

He emphasized that the Education Ministry, under Minister Haruna Iddrisu—who also owns Ghana Premier League club Karela United—plans to engage the private sector for financial support.

Drawing from his experience as a former athlete, Dr. Apaak expressed confidence in Iddrisu’s ability to secure funding.

He stressed the importance of sports in fitness and entertainment, highlighting the need for increased investment. He assured that the ministry would not neglect sports and would work towards sustainable support systems.
