Dreams FC head coach Karim Zito has criticized the media’s negative portrayal of coaches, calling it a major obstacle to Ghana’s football development.
He believes constant criticism hampers long-term progress and emphasizes the need for a structured football system similar to European models, where young players transition seamlessly into senior teams.
*"The media keeps attacking coaches instead of supporting long-term growth. We focus too much on instant results, but strong foundations are essential for success,"* Zito stated.
He cited Coach Sellas Tetteh’s 2009 U-20 World Cup-winning squad as an example of effective player development.
Zito urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to implement a clear succession plan to ensure a steady talent pipeline and restore Ghana’s football dominance.
