Killers of Nana Pooley must be arrested and dealt with - Otumfuo

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the murder of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.

The tragic incident occurred at Nana Kronmansah Park during a match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko.

So far, seven people, including Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour Awuah, have been arrested.

During a visit by Sports Minister Kofi Adams, Otumfuo urged authorities to ensure justice is served, stressing that no one should lose their life over football.

He emphasized that the assailant must be identified and arrested immediately to uphold the law. In response, the Ghana Football Association has introduced matchday safety protocols to curb hooliganism at stadiums.
