Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation-designate, Kofi Adams, has outlined plans to revamp the Winneba Sports College and introduce financial incentives to retain top talent in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
During his vetting, Adams stressed the importance of technical development and player retention to strengthen domestic football. He pledged to modernize Winneba Sports College, improving coaching education to enhance the league’s quality.
The institution, Ghana’s top sports education center, has long needed infrastructure upgrades and curriculum improvements.
Additionally, Adams acknowledged the challenge of player exodus, with many leaving for better financial opportunities abroad.
His proposed incentives aim to keep top talent in Ghana and boost the competitiveness of the local league.
