Kofi Adams, Ghana's Minister for Sports and Recreation Designate, has outlined plans to modernize the Winneba Sports College and introduce financial incentives to retain top players in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Speaking during his vetting, Adams emphasized the importance of improving technical development and strengthening player retention to boost domestic football. He proposed upgrading the Winneba Sports College, Ghana's main coaching and sports education facility, to better train coaches and align with modern football standards.
Adams also acknowledged the issue of player migration, promising to offer stipends to keep Ghana's best footballers from leaving for more lucrative opportunities abroad, aiming to enhance the GPL's competitiveness and quality.
