Kotoko and Hearts demand transparency in TV rights and sponsorship revenue

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are demanding greater transparency from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) regarding revenue from TV rights and sponsorship deals.

In a joint statement, the two clubs insisted they should be informed before each season about how many of their matches will be televised to ensure fair revenue distribution.

As Ghana’s most commercially valuable clubs, they argue that their financial returns from broadcast deals do not reflect their market value. They want clarity on how much revenue their matches generate and a fair share of the income.

The GFA currently controls the league’s broadcast and sponsorship deals, but Kotoko and Hearts are pushing for a more club-centric approach and an autonomous league.

The GFA has yet to respond, but this demand could reshape Ghanaian club football’s financial structure.
