Asante Kotoko has sacked head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The club announced this decision on Monday, April 21, 2025. They stated it followed discussions between both parties. They agreed it was in the club's best interest.
Ogum's dismissal comes after a 2-0 loss to Nations F.C. This defeat marked Kotoko's second consecutive loss. The team is also winless in four league matches.
Confidence in Ogum was low after the recent loss. Kotoko now sits fourth with 47 points, six behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
Nations F.C.'s victory was their second against Kotoko this season. They completed a double over the Porcupine Warriors.
This poor run is not new for Kotoko this season. From October 27 to November 11, they lost four of five matches. Their only draw during that time was against Basake Holy Stars.
That stretch included a defeat to Legon Cities, who were last in the league then.
Ogum returned to Kotoko in July 2023 for his second stint. He led them to sixth place with 49 points, twelve fewer than champions F.C. Samarttex 1996.
In his second season, Ogum leaves with thirteen wins and eight defeats. The club urged supporters to remain calm during this transition period. Further updates will be provided soon.
