Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Prosper Ogum part ways amid four game winless spell

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has parted ways with head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum. This decision comes with six games left in the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season.

The team has struggled recently, dropping from first to fourth place. They are now six points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars, who have 53 points.

In their last four matches, Dr. Ogum's team drew two games and lost two. They suffered a 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions and a 2-0 loss to Nations FC. After the loss to Nations FC, Dr. Ogum noted that conceding five goals in two games was unusual for his team.

On April 21, the club released a statement about Dr. Ogum’s departure. It stated that the decision followed constructive discussions between both parties.

The statement read: “This decision was made in the best interest of the club.”

Kotoko thanked Coach Ogum for his dedication and service. They wished him well in his future endeavors and urged supporters to remain calm during this transition. Further updates will be provided soon.
