GFA President Kurt Okraku will chair an emergency meeting with Premier League club executives on February 6, 2025, following the murder of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Pooley.
He was fatally stabbed after a heated argument during Kotoko’s 1-0 loss to Nsoatreman. The incident has reignited concerns about football violence in Ghana.
The meeting will focus on strengthening security at match venues, promoting non-violence, and reviewing disciplinary measures.
The GFA has banned Nsoatreman from using their home ground and postponed upcoming league matches. Authorities are investigating the incident, while calls for stricter safety measures grow.
Ghana has a history of football-related violence, with the 2001 Accra stadium disaster claiming over 120 lives.
