GFA Executive Council member Nana Sarfo Oduro has explained that FA President Kurt Okraku’s silence on the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan Francis “Nana Pooley” Frimpong is due to illness.
Okraku is currently abroad receiving medical treatment and has faced criticism for not addressing the incident.
Sarfo Oduro assured that Okraku would have visited Kotoko if he were well and will do so upon his recovery.
The statement came during a meeting between the GFA and Kotoko, their first since the fatal stabbing of a fan during a match against Nsoatreman FC.
Meanwhile, Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee Chairman, Nana Apinkra, has warned that the club will not resume football until their demands for improved security and reforms are met.
