Kwesi Appiah explains handling of dual Sudan-Ghana FA role during AFCON Qualifiers

Kwesi Appiah managed his dual roles as Sudan coach and GFA ExCo member by stepping back from ExCo discussions involving Ghana during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

CAF directed him to avoid conflicts of interest after Sudan and Ghana were drawn in the same group.

Appiah clarified that he was excused from ExCo meetings related to the Black Stars, which he accepted as fair.

He emphasized that day-to-day decisions were handled by the Black Stars’ management committee, while larger matters were addressed by the ExCo.
