Former Black Stars Management Committee member Ernest Thompson disclosed that former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah once planned to drop Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Mubarak Wakaso from the national team.

The decision, driven by tensions with the players, was overturned through the intervention of the management committee.

Thompson explained that the committee urged Appiah to address the issues diplomatically, involving Abedi Pele, father of Andre and Jordan, in mediating the conflict. This resolution ultimately led to the players' reinstatement and their contribution to the team.

Thompson highlighted the crucial role the management committee played in such situations, despite the recent dissolution of the committee following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. He emphasized the importance of management working within its scope for the team’s success.
