Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal continues to draw comparisons with Lionel Messi after a standout performance in a 1-0 win over Alaves.
The match saw Robert Lewandowski score the only goal, while Yamal broke a record Messi set in 2007 by attempting 21 dribbles and completing 11. At just 17, Yamal has already surpassed Messi’s early impact at Barcelona, who was 17 when he made his debut and had only one goal and no assists by 18.
Yamal, who made his debut at 15, has played 79 senior games, contributing 39 goals and assists. Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Yamal’s maturity and skill, noting that despite his young age, he consistently performs well against tough opposition.
