Lewandowski double seals Barca final day win at Athletic Club

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Barcelona won against Athletic Club. This victory secured their domestic treble-winning season.

Barcelona had already clinched their 28th league title with two games left. They scored their 100th goal of the league campaign in the 14th minute.

Lewandowski chipped the ball over goalkeeper Unai Simon for the opener. He then headed in a second goal just three minutes later. Raphinha's corner set him up at the back post.

These goals marked his 27th in La Liga and 40th overall this season. Substitute Dani Olmo added a penalty in stoppage time to seal the win.

Barcelona finished with 88 points from 28 wins and four draws. They ended four points ahead of Real Madrid. Coach Hansi Flick won La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles in his first season.

Despite Barcelona's dominance, Athletic Club had chances to score before halftime. Maroan Sannadi missed two good opportunities to reduce the deficit.

The striker failed to hit the target from six yards out after a cross. He also poked wide when one-on-one with goalkeeper Inaki Pena. This match was Oscar de Marcos' final appearance for Athletic Club.

Lewandowski missed chances for a hat-trick early in the second half. Athletic Club nearly scored when Pau Cubarsi's header hit the crossbar.

De Marcos received applause from fans as he was substituted in the 89th minute. He passed the captain's armband to future captain Inaki Williams.

In stoppage time, Olmo scored from a penalty after being fouled by Yuri Berchiche. Athletic Club finished fourth, level on points with Villarreal but secured Champions League qualification earlier.
