Liverpool make history with 2nd EPL title

Liverpool has been crowned champions of the Premier League for the second time. This is also their 20th top-flight title, equaling a record. Arne Slot led the club to this victory in his first season.

On Sunday, Liverpool won 5-1 against Tottenham Hotspur. This win put them out of reach of Arsenal, their nearest rivals. They are now the seventh team to secure the title so early in the season.

Liverpool's previous Premier League title came in 2019/20 under Jurgen Klopp. That season was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and fans could not attend matches. Now, they will lift the Premier League Trophy in front of their supporters for the first time.

Before Sunday’s match, fans gathered around Anfield to welcome the team. Head coach Arne Slot said this support motivated his players. Even after Spurs scored first, he believed they would win.

Mohamed Salah celebrated by taking a selfie with fans after scoring. He said winning with fans present is incredible and better than five years ago. "We have a different group now," he noted, highlighting their achievement.

With this second title, Liverpool moves to fifth place in total titles won. They trail Arsenal's three titles but have now won 20 overall since before the Premier League began.

Salah has been crucial to Liverpool's success this season. He leads the league with 28 goals and 18 assists so far. His contributions account for 58 percent of Liverpool's total goals this season.

Salah recently signed a new contract and aims for more records. He hopes to become only the second player with over 20 goals and assists in one season. He also targets breaking Andrew Cole’s record of goal involvements from 1993/94.

"I know I broke the record for 38 games," Salah said confidently about his achievements this season.
