MTN FA Cup Semis: Albert Amoah’s strike sends Kotoko through to Final

In a thrilling MTN FA Cup semi-final, Asante Kotoko defeated Berekum Chelsea 1–0. The match took place at TNA Stadium in Tarkwa. With this win, Kotoko secured a spot in the final on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The only goal came midway through the second half. Albert Amoah scored with a powerful header from a corner kick.

Despite late pressure from Chelsea, Kotoko's defense remained strong. They held onto their lead until the final whistle. This victory marked Kotoko's first win in the competition under new head coach Abdul Karim Zito.

Zito took over after Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum was replaced due to poor results. Ogum's last game was a 1-0 win against True Democracy in the MTN FA Cup.

Reaching the final gives Zito a chance to win his second FA Cup title. He previously won with Dreams FC in the 2022-2023 season. Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea’s coach Samuel Boadu ended his pursuit of a third FA Cup title.

The winner of the FA Cup will qualify for next season's CAF Confederations Cup.
