MTN FA Cup Semis: I’m worried about Kotoko’s injury situation ahead of Berekum Chelsea clash- Karim Zito

Adrian Adjetey (44) celebrates after scoring the winning goal against Berekum Chelsea.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko's head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, is worried about injuries. His team faces Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, May 11 at 18:00 GMT. The match will take place at the TNA Stadium in the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup.

Kotoko aims to win their first FA Cup title since 2017. This competition offers them a chance to end the 2024-2025 season with a trophy.

In a pre-game interview, Zito expressed his eagerness to win the FA Cup. However, he highlighted concerns about player injuries before the match. “On the field, we’ve been working towards that [winning the FA Cup],” he said.

Zito added, “My worry is that there are injury situations in the team.” He prefers consistency and dislikes making changes due to injuries. “The injury situation is too big for me to handle,” he stated.

Zito won the MTN FA Cup in the 2022-2023 season. Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea's coach Samuel Boadu has won it twice with Accra Hearts of Oak.

The TNA Stadium in Tarkwa will host this semifinal match on May 11, 2025.
