Mahama should hold Sports Ministry accountable, not GFA - EXCO member Nana Sarfo Oduro clapback

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Nana Sarfo Oduro, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to hold the Ministry of Youth and Sports accountable for the Black Stars' budget, not the GFA.

He criticized the president's statement directing the Sports Minister to hold the FA responsible, explaining that the GFA only submits a budget for approval.

Once approved, the Ministry is solely responsible for handling the finances. Oduro emphasized that the Ministry should be the focus of any accountability measures, as the GFA has limited control over financial matters and policies related to sports funding.

The GFA’s role is primarily regulatory, with funding and broader sports management falling under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
