Former GHALCA Chairman Cudjoe Fianoo has endorsed President John Dramani Mahama’s directive to make the Black Stars’ budget public, emphasizing the need for accountability since taxpayer money is involved.
Fianoo stressed that transparency is crucial for trust in football administration.
President Mahama, in his February 27 State of the Nation Address, insisted that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must be held accountable for all national team expenditures.
He emphasized that, with the Black Stars struggling, there should be no secrecy regarding government spending on the team.
This renewed focus on transparency comes as Ghana prepares to face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
The directive aims to enhance public confidence in the management of national football funds.
