Malta Guinness Women’s PL: Berry Ladies relegated from top-flight league

The Southern Zone of the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League has seen Berry Ladies relegated. The team had a difficult season, earning only 7 points from 18 matches. They also conceded a league-high 36 goals, marking the worst performance in both zones.

Berry Ladies were once known for their attacking style. However, they struggled to find their rhythm this season. As a result, they will play in the lower division next season.

In the South, Halifax Queens and Faith Ladies are facing uncertainty. Both teams finished with 13 points, placing them 8th and 9th after 18 rounds. They also drew 1-1 in both of their matches against each other.

Their fate will be decided in a relegation playoff. The Domestic Competitions Committee and the Ghana Football Association will announce the date and venue on Monday.

In the Northern Zone, Sung Shinning Ladies and Supreme Ladies have been relegated as well. Sung Shinning Ladies finished at the bottom with just 8 points. Despite being newcomers, they struggled throughout their debut season.

Supreme Ladies joined them on the final day of competition. They won a thrilling match against Dreamz Ladies but still faced relegation due to other results not favoring them.

Both clubs will regroup in the lower division next season, aiming to return to the top flight.
