Man City reported to European Commission over rule breaches - Tebas

Javier Tebas Javier Tebas

La Liga president Javier Tebas has reported Manchester City to the European Commission, accusing them of using a corporate structure to bypass financial regulations.

Tebas claims City channels expenses through UAE-based companies outside the City Football Group, giving them an unfair advantage in the Premier League and Champions League.

The complaint, filed in 2023, falls under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, which allows the EU to investigate state-controlled funding.

City has not officially responded but denies any wrongdoing, citing their public financial records.

This comes as City also faces 115 Premier League financial rule breach charges, with potential penalties including a points deduction or relegation. Tebas has previously criticized City and PSG, labeling them "state clubs" due to alleged irregular financing.
