Manchester United staged a dramatic second-half comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Everton, avoiding another damaging defeat.
Everton dominated the first half, with Beto scoring in the 19th minute and Abdoulaye Doucoure doubling the lead after Harry Maguire failed to clear a rebound.
United looked out of contention until Bruno Fernandes pulled one back with a well-placed free-kick in the 72nd minute. Eight minutes later, Manuel Ugarte's powerful strike leveled the game.
Everton thought they had won a penalty in stoppage time after Maguire’s challenge on Ashley Young, but VAR overturned the decision.
Despite United’s late resurgence, manager Ruben Amorim’s side showed serious weaknesses. Everton, meanwhile, were left frustrated after failing to secure a deserved win. The result leaves Everton one point ahead of 15th-placed United.
