Manchester United have announced plans for a new £2bn, 100,000-seater stadium near Old Trafford, aiming to be the UK's largest and "the world's greatest football stadium."

The existing Old Trafford, home since 1910, will be demolished once construction is complete. Designed by Foster and Partners, the stadium will feature an umbrella design, a vast public plaza, and three towering masts.

The project is part of a wider regeneration plan, expected to create 92,000 jobs and add £7.3bn annually to the UK economy.

Financing remains unclear, but club officials are confident in securing funds. Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester mayor Andy Burnham support the move, despite its controversy.

The timeline depends on government approval, but United plan to continue playing at Old Trafford until completion.
