Liverpool head coach Arne Slot dismissed claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s poor performance in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United was due to speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
Slot stated, "I don't believe in those things" and emphasized that United's quality, not transfer rumors, caused the right-back's struggles. "It is more difficult for Trent to play against Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot than it is the rumours," Slot explained.
Alexander-Arnold’s difficulties, particularly on United’s left flank, were attributed to the quality of opponents rather than distractions. Despite the draw, which left Liverpool six points clear atop the Premier League, Slot felt it was "two points dropped," noting missed chances on both sides.
