Chelsea's hopes of staying in the title race were dealt a blow with a 2-0 loss to struggling Ipswich Town.
Kieran McKenna's side capitalized on Chelsea’s profligacy, with Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson scoring. The defeat marked Chelsea's second consecutive Premier League loss, leaving them 10 points behind leaders Liverpool. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca downplayed the title race, stating, "We focus game by game. We are not focused on title race or those things."
Despite creating numerous chances, including a disallowed Joao Felix goal and two Cole Palmer shots hitting the woodwork, Maresca refused to blame his attackers. Delap was the standout player, scoring and assisting, while Hutchinson praised his teammate’s all-around performance. Ipswich celebrated their first home win over Chelsea since 1993.
