Mario Rui Leaves Napoli after 227 appearances and five years at the Club

Napoli have announced the mutual termination of Mario Rui's contract, effective December 30, 2024.

The Portuguese left-back joined Napoli in 2018 after a loan spell from Roma and made 227 appearances, scoring three goals and providing 26 assists. Rui played a key role in Napoli's 2022-23 Scudetto-winning season and won the Coppa Italia in 2020.

However, he has not featured this season under new coach Antonio Conte, with Napoli currently second in Serie A. Despite signing a contract extension last year until 2026, both parties agreed to end his tenure early. Napoli thanked Rui for his service and wished him success in his future endeavors.
