Matheus Cunha transfer: Wolves forward set to join Man Utd at end of season

Matheus Cunha will join Manchester United after this weekend's season end.

United plans to activate his £62.5m release clause. They understand the conditions for this clause.

So far, there has been no direct contact with Wolves. However, formal discussions are expected after the season ends.

Cunha prefers United despite interest from other clubs. Sky Sports News reports that the deal is nearly finalized.

He believes United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Their current Premier League position does not deter him. United is currently two places below Wolves in 16th place.

Five Premier League clubs, including United, wanted to sign Cunha this summer. Arsenal and Aston Villa had talks about signing him this year. Saudi Pro League clubs also showed interest in triggering his release clause.

Cunha joined from Atletico Madrid in 2022 for around £34m. He has scored 27 goals and provided 13 assists in 63 Premier League games.
