Maxwell Konadu, former assistant coach of the Black Stars, may soon become the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak. Negotiations for his appointment are reportedly 80% complete.
An official announcement is expected soon. This will depend on finalizing the contractual terms. Konadu will replace current head coach Aboubakar Ouattara. The Phobians aim to improve after a tough Ghana Premier League season.
In addition, experienced goalkeepers’ coach Najahu Issa may join Konadu at Hearts. Talks with Issa are progressing well. He could be part of the new coaching staff if the deal is finalized.
Konadu has previously coached Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars. He is respected for his tactical skills and calm leadership. His hiring is seen as a key move to restore stability at Hearts of Oak.
Currently, the club ranks sixth in the Ghana Premier League with 46 points. They are eight points behind leaders Bibiani GoldStars with four matches left this season.
