Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Eben Dida stresses the need to remember the May 9th Stadium Disaster. This tragedy is Ghana's worst football disaster, claiming 127 lives.

Dida witnessed the horrific event firsthand. He urges Ghanaians not to forget those who lost their lives. On the anniversary, he calls for more awareness and education to prevent future incidents.

"I was on the park that day," Dida recalls. "We must create awareness on days like this." He believes we should not consider the tragedy as just a past event.

Dida thinks annual reflections can educate fans about safety at matches. "On this anniversary, we need to do it big in Ghana," he says. This will help people understand what to do when attending games.
