Mendes’ late strike puts PSG in control against Villa

Nuno Mendes delivered a dramatic last-minute goal to give Paris St-Germain a 3-1 lead over Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Parc des Princes.

Despite Villa's early breakthrough from Morgan Rogers, PSG equalized through Desire Doue’s stunning 20-yard shot and then took the lead after halftime with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s powerful strike.

Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made crucial saves, but was undone in stoppage time when Mendes capitalized on a rebound to seal a crushing blow for Unai Emery’s side.
