The Ghana Football Association (GFA) paid over $100,000 in compensation to former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac after his dismissal following the team's elimination from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Rajevac, who was sacked after directives from the Sports Ministry, had FIFA rule in his favor, leading to the hefty payment of approximately $117,000.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante-Twum explained that the GFA had to settle this amount due to the Ministry's lack of support.
This financial burden has made the GFA cautious in its decision-making regarding Otto Addo's future, with Addo facing scrutiny after failing to qualify the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON. The situation has fueled calls for reforms within Ghana's football management.
