GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus arrived in camp on Sunday but was excused from Ghana’s first training session on Monday by head coach Otto Addo.

The Black Stars began preparations with only nine players participating in light drills, with Kudus notably absent. Speaking on Sporty FM, Asante Twum explained, "Mohammed Kudus arrived on Sunday. He was in camp, but the coach excused him from the first day’s training."

With the full squad now assembled, the team will shift focus to tactical preparations for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad on March 21 and Madagascar on March 24.

Kudus has struggled for form at West Ham this season, scoring just three goals, and his last outing for Ghana saw him miss a crucial penalty against Niger.
