Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus has been fined for using his mobile phone while driving near West Ham United’s training ground.
The 24-year-old was seen by a police officer on April 30, 2024, handling his smartphone while behind the wheel of his £100,000 Mercedes. Kudus later explained that he was setting up his Sat Nav.
After failing to respond to an initial fixed penalty fine, legal proceedings were initiated.
Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court found him guilty, fining him £220, issuing six penalty points, and ordering him to pay £110 in legal costs and an £88 victim surcharge.
The case was processed privately under the Single Justice Procedure. PC James Palmer, on patrol, spotted Kudus’ vehicle on Wood Lane, Romford, leading to his charge.
