Moses Simon has welcomed Eric Chelle as the new head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles following the Nigerian Football Federation's (NFF) appointment of Chelle to replace Augustine Eguavoen, who helped the team qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Simon, the first Super Eagles player to react, posted a social media message saying, "Bienvenue au Nigéria" ("Welcome to Nigeria").
Despite struggling in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with no wins after four matches and sitting fifth in their group, Simon remains hopeful that Chelle's appointment will improve the team's performance and boost their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
