Former German international Jerome Boateng has been cleared of all charges after Munich prosecutors dropped their investigation into allegations of assault against his ex-girlfriend, Kasia Lenhardt.
Boateng had been under scrutiny since 2019, with the case reopening in 2021 following Lenhardt’s tragic suicide. However, an autopsy found no concrete evidence, and a key witness failed to appear before later disappearing.
Citing the legal principle *in dubio pro reo*—when in doubt, for the defendant—the prosecution has officially dismissed charges of assault, coercion, and defamation.
Reacting to the decision, Boateng expressed relief, stating: "The allegations against me were false. Now my family and I can finally look to the future with positivity."
The verdict marks the end of a five-year legal battle for the former Bayern Munich defender, who now looks forward to moving on from the controversy.
