New York Knicks Celebrate Win Over Boston Celtics in Game 2 of Playoffs
After losing Game 1 in overtime, the Celtics struggled again. They blew a 20-point lead in Game 2. The Knicks won 91-90 on Wednesday night.
Celtics star Jaylen Brown expressed frustration. "Two games we’re up 20 points and don’t win is inexcusable," he said. "Being down two, it sucks."
The Knicks took their first lead with four minutes left. They have only led for 12 minutes across both games but hold a 2-0 series lead. This has left the defending champion Celtics confused.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla commented on the game. "They made every play," he said. He noted that his team had good looks but made turnovers that cost them.
In clutch time, the Celtics shot just 3-of-20 over both games. Jayson Tatum and Brown combined to shoot only 1-of-12 during those moments.
Brown acknowledged their mistakes after scoring 20 points. He was just 1-of-7 shooting in the second half and had six turnovers. "We played a little fast and got antsy," he said about the rough night.
