The Cleveland Cavaliers had their normal rotations back on Friday night.
NBA Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley and All-Star guard Darius Garland started. Key backup De’Andre Hunter also played off the bench. Their presence made a big difference after losing the first two games at home.
Mobley helped the Cavs dominate rebounding. Garland and Hunter contributed key moments as Cleveland won 126-104 against the Indiana Pacers. This victory cut their series deficit to 2-1.
“I knew I had to do certain things,” Mobley said after his performance. He finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks. “I felt comfortable and confident to play my game.”
Cleveland coach Kenny Atkinson praised Garland's effort despite pain. “He pushed through a lot tonight,” Atkinson said about Garland’s performance in an 0-2 situation. He hopes Garland recovers quickly.
Now, the big question for Cleveland is recovery time for Mobley, Garland, and Hunter. They need to be ready for Game 4 on Sunday in Indianapolis.
