NBA Playoffs: We had to figure it out- Anthony Edwards on Timberwolves’ Game 3 Win

Anthony Edwards spoke up in the locker room at halftime. The Minnesota Timberwolves were trailing and struggling on the boards. His words sparked a third-quarter turnaround. The Wolves won 117-110 against the Golden State Warriors. This victory puts them ahead 3-1 in their second-round series.

“I told them, ‘We only got two wins,’” Edwards said after Game 4. He emphasized that no series ends at 2-1. “We have to get two more wins,” he added. He noted they were playing like they had already won four games. “If we kept playing like that, we would have lost tonight.”

Edwards led the team after halftime, scoring 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting. He nearly matched the Warriors' total for that quarter. Minnesota outscored Golden State 39-17 in the third quarter. This was the largest positive margin for a quarter in Wolves postseason history.

“He was one of the guys most vocal at halftime,” said coach Chris Finch. Edwards recognized what needed to change and set the tone for improvement.

Edwards finished with 30 points on 11-for-21 shooting and five assists. Veteran forward Julius Randle also contributed significantly, scoring 31 points on 11-for-21 shooting with five rebounds. Together, they have been key players during Minnesota's strong postseason run, which stands at a record of 7-2 so far.
