NBA Playoffs: We will figure it out- Anthony Edwards after Timberwolves’ Game One loss

Anthony Edwards, star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, spoke to the media after a tough loss. The Timberwolves lost 114-88 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Despite being outscored by 30 points in the second half, Edwards remained confident. He finished with 18 points but only scored five after halftime.

Edwards plans to improve for Game 2 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. He believes he needs to shoot more and take better shots. "I definitely got to shoot more," he said. He noted that he only took 13 shots in Game 1 and wants to play without the ball more often.

Edwards mentioned that watching film will help him adjust. He acknowledged that his shooting attempts were low for this postseason. Only one of his shots was taken inside the paint during the game.

When asked about his right ankle injury, Edwards said it did not affect his performance. He explained that Oklahoma City's defense clogged the paint effectively. "Every time I go to the rim, it's like four people in the paint," he stated.

The Timberwolves struggled offensively, scoring just 20 points in the paint against Oklahoma City. This was their lowest total since a playoff game in 2004 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Edwards passed well, his teammates struggled with their shooting all night.

The Wolves shot only 29.4% from three-point range, making just 15 of 51 attempts. This marked a franchise record for most three-point attempts in a playoff game.
