NDC gives a lot of opportunities to younger people and women - Kafui Danku

Kafui Danku-Pitcher is the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority. She recently shared her reasons for joining the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z, Kafui explained her decision. She aligned with the NDC before the 2024 general election. She felt that the previous government had not met expectations.

Kafui mentioned her community work and a project that stressed her out. She wanted to support those working for change. Eventually, she decided she could not remain silent while suffering.

When asked what attracted her to the NDC, Kafui said they offer opportunities to youth and women. She noted that in 68 years of independence, no one has strongly supported female leadership. It is important for women to be recognized as qualified leaders.

Kafui assumed office about a month ago and was not surprised by her appointment. She has led in various capacities before this role. Supporters encouraged her to pursue a political position.

"They felt it was time for me to lead," she said. Fans often suggested titles like "Minister of Tourism" for her.

As Executive Secretary, Kafui will manage daily operations at the National Film Authority. She reports to a board led by an experienced film practitioner.

The National Film Authority (NFA) regulates and develops Ghana's film industry. Its mission includes enforcing production regulations and promoting Ghanaian films both locally and internationally.
