The National Sports Authority (NSA) has announced a tender for reconditioning football pitches to meet FIFA standards, aiming to enhance sports infrastructure in Ghana.
The initiative is designed to "reduce injury risks and improve sporting performance during active and off-seasons." NSA emphasized that the project, funded through its budgetary allocation, is essential for maintaining "world-class surfaces" for players.
A statement highlighted, "This initiative is crucial for maintaining the quality of football in Ghana." Following a CAF ban on the Baba Yara Stadium, which was later lifted.
The NSA, in collaboration with the Ghana FA, consulted a Dutch company for advice, leading to the decision to recondition the pitches. Bidders can submit tenders by January 6, 2025.
