Nations FC captain Razak Simpson had a standout performance. He scored his first goal for the Black Stars. This helped secure a 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago. The match was for third place in the 2025 Unity Cup.
Simpson faced challenges in Ghana's previous game. They lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the semi-finals of the tournament. However, he made a strong comeback by scoring a header in the 12th minute. The goal came from a corner kick taken by Jordan Ayew.
Ayew started the scoring early, netting a goal in the 6th minute. He then assisted Simpson to double their lead before halftime. Youngster Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini added another goal in the 41st minute. Lawrence Agyekum completed the scoring with his goal in the 56th minute.
Razak Simpson is close to winning his first Ghana Premier League title. Nations FC leads the league with two games left this season. However, he will miss their upcoming match against Basake Holy Stars due to national team duties.
