Nations FC defender Razak Simpson has credited Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew for positively influencing his debut performances during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Simpson impressed in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Angola and their 2-1 defeat to Niger, delivering assured displays in defense.
Speaking to Newton Lartey TV, Simpson revealed Ayew visited him before the Angola match, offering motivational advice. "He told me, 'You're here because you can play.
Don't be afraid and feel free to ask me for anything,'" Simpson shared, attributing his standout performances to Ayew's support.
Despite Simpson's promise, Ghana failed to win any of their six qualifiers, finishing bottom of Group F and missing the AFCON for the first time in 20 years. The Black Stars will aim to rebound during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
